Review of Ladd Springs by Dianne Venetta

About Ladd Springs -
Delaney Wilkins finds herself at odds with hotel developer Nick Harris over a deathbed promise and a mysterious find in the Tennessee forest. Both are after title to Ladd Springs, a mecca of natural springs, streams and trails in the eastern Tennessee mountains, a tract of land worth millions. But Ernie Ladd, current owner of the property and uncle to Delaney, is adamantly opposed to them both.

Felicity Wilkins, Delaney’s daughter, deserves to inherit her family’s legacy, but neighbour Clem Sweeney is working against her, ingratiating himself with Ernie Ladd. Clem is also harbouring a secret that will make him a very wealthy man—unless the others stop him before he can bring it to fruition.
Complicating matters is Annie Owens. Ex-girlfriend to Jeremiah Ladd, Ernie’s estranged son living in Atlanta, she declares her daughter Casey is Jeremiah’s, making Casey every bit as entitled to the property as Felicity—only Annie hasn’t proven this claim. Yet.

All are fighting to get the property, but only one will walk away with the gold.

Ladd Springs is a lovely book start to finish, all of the characters are so like able yet each so different from the next. As the story progressed on, the storyline became more thrilling and exciting by the second. Ladd Springs resolves around the Ladd family and the people who are connected in some way to the family.

There are many characters that are a big part of this story, Delaney who is the main person that the story revolves around. Delaney lives in a small house with her daughter Felicity, that is situated near to the main house where Ernie Ladd lives. Ernie is Delaney's mother brother and has sole ownership of the Ladd land. There is also Clem who is a sleazebag that works on the acres around the Ladd houses, he is also up to something that he shouldn't be. Nick is the other main character that is introduced early on in the book, he wants to buy the Ladd's land to build his new hotel on.

There are many other minor characters as well such as Jeremiah who is not directly in the book but his ex-girlfriend and daughter, Annie and Casey as a big part of the book in the debate over who is entitled to Ladd Springs. Travis and Troy are friends of Felicity's and are mentioned in the book several times, Susannah, Delaney's mother who has dead is mentioned in the book in relation to the land and when talking to Ernie about what her mother wanted.

This story is full of suspense and romance that is perfect for a great summer read. The book moves along at a great pace, with you wondering what is around the corner page after page. This book is worth the read, it is really amazing start to finish.

My favourite character would have to be Delaney as she is a mix between a damsel and a heroine all rolled up in one. The way she wants to protect her daughter and trying to forget her past at the same time, shows how dedicated she was to protecting her family.

I would recommend this book to anyone who like a story that is filled with a thrilling story line that has romance, drama and suspense.

If I had to sum this book up in three words, they would be Love, Thrilling and Amazing.

I would give this book a 5/5. An amazing read, perfect for this summer.
