Family weddings can be hell.

...and, marooned in Italy for her cousin's nuptials, Ailsa can be forgiven for thinking that this one is worse than most. With the bride and groom at loggerheads and the guests in uproar, it is a million miles away from the rest and relaxation she'd been hoping for.

And then suddenly, in the middle of the mayhem, she comes face-to-face with Nick, the man she walked out on just a few months earlier.

How can Ailsa help get the wedding back on track when she and Nick can't stop arguing? But if they do, she might remember why she fell in love with him in the first place - and then there really would be trouble.

 

 

When I first looked at Save The Date, I was instantly drawn to the cover design it is so beautiful and the tagline of the front of the book was want made me excited about this book. The tagline simply reads "You are invited to the wedding of the year." I could tell from that line that this book is going to be funny yet a really good romance story as well. After reading the plot of the book I could tell it was going to be one of the best summer reads for this year.

 

 

The story revolves around Ailsa Stuart and the wedding of her cousin Jessica's wedding which is being held in Tuscany. From the first chapter you can see things are not going great in Ailsa's life, so when her roommate and best friend Emma talks her into going to the wedding she is determined to relax from her stressful life. Going to Tuscany and forgetting everything to do with Nick, the man she walked out on just three weeks previous.

 

Hoping for a lovely getaway soon turns to the worse holiday ever when the peaceful time she planned took a turn for the worst. Soon the guests are making this the holiday from hell, the bride and groom auguring about everything and seeing the man that she walked away from not long ago.

 

From the very first chapters in this book, I could clearly see that this book would be very funny but it would also have a very serious element to it as well. As the story progressed on you couldn't help but being to love Ailsa and her crazy friends and family. They may be annoying and crazy but you can see that they really do care for each other, Ailsa must make a choice that will either change her life completely or the choice will hurt someone she care very deeply for. Though which one does she choose, with the crazy family members and no time to relax can she make up her mind before the week is out.

This book is a must read for this summer, with the romance, craziness and wedding fever it will be perfect the read for that summer feeling. I would recommended this book to fans of Jenny Colgan and Lucy Dillon.

 

It I had to sum this book up in a sentence it would be- "A wedding that will never be forgotten with secrets, lies, romance, crazy relatives and a unmissable story about love and how to fight for the one you love even when you want nothing better than to walk away".

She completed pupillage in London with a leading set of family law barristers and the joined a firm of solicitors as matrimonial specialist.
