A summer wedding stirs up trouble on both sides of the family in this new novel from bestselling author Elin Hilderbrand.
The Carmichaels and Grahams have gathered on Nantucket for a wedding. Plans are being made according to the wishes of the bride's late mother, who left behind The Notebook: specific instructions for every detail of her youngest daughter's future nuptials. Everything should be falling into place for the beautiful event--but in reality, things are far from perfect.
While the couple-to-be are quite happy, their loved ones find their own lives crumbling. In the days leading up to the wedding, love will be questioned, scandals will arise, and hearts will be broken and healed. Elin Hilderbrand takes readers on a touching journey in BEAUTIFUL DAY--into the heart of marriage, what it means to be faithful, and how we choose to honor our commitments.

Beautiful Day is a bitter-sweet novel about wishes, family and wedding's. Jenna is set to get married on the weekend, everything has been planned from the flowers right down to the dress, although its through all the help from The Notebook her mother left for her. Though the wisdom and advice, Jenna has used all the suggestions that her mother has left, even if it annoys others in the process. Although, not even her mother could have taken into account the crazy family trouble, weather and problems that would arise in the 48 hours leading up to the big day.
Beth Carmichael was the rock that held the family together, she knew what everyone needed and now that she has gone their lives are not the same. Having The Notebook was like having another piece of her, even after all these years, its a reminder to them of her but it also reminds them of what they lost as well.
Margot the older sister and matron of honour feels that she must do anything to make sure this weekend goes as perfect as can be, but with her own problems getting in the way she isn't sure it is likely. From sleeping with her father's law partner to having to deal with a mistake she made, Margot has no idea how she is going to make it through this weekend.
The father of the bride, Doug Carmichael is going through his own problems from losing his wife seven years previous which he still hasn't fully gotten over it and even though he has re-married he can't stop comparing them to each other. Doug knows that no one will ever come close to Beth, no matter how much he loves them, she will always be the love of his life.
Along with the craziness that is weddings, the Carmichael family has to deal with the unexpected disasters, the controlling family members and revelations that will change everything. I loved how even though it was Jenna's wedding, it wasn't told in her point of view, it was told in observers of the big day and the most important people in her life and through the pages of The Notebook.
Beautiful Day is a heart-warming novel about family, friends, life and weddings, with its uniqueness and charm I loved reading every second of it. With its precious moments, beautiful storyline and memorable characters, Beautiful Day is a must read from an amazing author who knows how to write gripping story.
If I had to sum this book up in three words, they would be Beautiful, Heartbreaking and Memorable.

Another day, another book,
