'The Shopaholic Series Week' Day 3 - Shopaholic Ties The Knot by Sophie Kinsella

 Life has been good for Becky Bloomwood: She’s become the best personal shopper at Barneys, she and her successful entrepreneurial boyfriend, Luke, are living happily in Manhattan’s West Village, and her new next-door neighbour is a fashion designer!  As the Shopaholic Series progresses the story gains new characters and more thrilling adventures, this one is no different. As soon as I read the blurb I could tell that Becky's wedding is going to cause trouble and I couldn't wait to see what happens.

 

 

Shopaholic Ties The Knot is the third in the Shopaholic Series, by this point you know most of the characters and the craziness that is their lives. Though you can't help but want to know more and enjoy reading about these loveable characters. The story starts with both Luke and Becky having lived in Manhattan for a year.

 

They are going well, so well that Luke decides to propose to Becky. Though things start going crazy after Becky tells both her mother and Luke's mother that they can plan their wedding, the only problem is that they are planning two different weddings in two different locations.

 

Where this book isn't so much about Becky's shopping addiction, it does show that she has a hard time, making decisions. She has to choose between two different weddings, almost like two different lives both very different from each other. A fancy wedding in New York or a English wedding back home, though I can see why she couldn't choose, as she didn't want to hurt either of them, both being important in her life.

 

This book was perfect for this series, with the focus more on Luke and Becky and how their relationship works and their upcoming wedding, it shows a different side to them which is great. Though no wedding is without hiccups, from Luke's biological mother, Becky lying about the wedding venue and having to deal with their crazy friends and family, this is a book that can't be missed.

 

If I had to sum this book up in three words, they would be Witty, Fantastic and Imaginable.

 

Shopaholic Ties The Knot is a perfect book to read about the craziness that happens at and before weddings. It has funny moments, add in crazy controlling mothers and all the while trying to stay out of trouble.

 

My favourite quote from Shopaholic Ties The Knot was:-
