Review of Searching For Someday by Jennifer Probst

Tuesday 18 March 2014

Kate has given up on love—at least for herself. She is both blessed and cursed with the ability to sense a romantic connection between two people—a gift that her family passed down for generations. When Kate launches her own matchmaking company, Kinnection, with her two best friends in a cozy New York town, she has to put aside her own romantic disasters to make her business a success.

But when a furious man stalks into her office and accuses her business of being a scam, Kate is given the ultimate challenge to prove herself. Slade puts himself in her hands and asks Kate to find him love. Enraged at his arrogance but stubbornly eager to prove herself, Kate agrees, dedicating herself to the journey of finding him love...only to find herself falling for him along the way.

This is the first book in the Searching series, it has a bit of everything love, matchmaking and tension that make it an all enjoyable read. Having not read the first series that Jennifer Probst has written, after reading this book, I will make sure I do, I just love her style of writing.

They say that everyone has a soul mate out there, but Kate hasn't met hers yet, then again Kate doesn't believe in love anymore. Well at least not for herself that is, so when she sets up her matchmaking business 'Kinnection' with her two friends Kennedy and Arilyn who she has known since university, she is hoping to help others find their true loves.

Though things soon start to go bad when Slade, a divorce attorney shows up at her office, claiming that her matchmaking business is a scam. His sister Jane hadn't had much luck in love but decided to give Kate's matchmaking a try but her brother isn't as sure, which is why he claims that her business is a scam.

So, Kate decides to help her business and prove to him that she can find someone their true love, so she decides to challenge him. Though she soon realises that maybe it wasn't such a good idea, because she soon starts feeling something for this arrogant but handsome man. He doesn't make her job any easier, as he just like her doesn't believe in love either but they both soon decide that the connection they have can't be missed.

There were many things that I loved about this book, the first being it was set in New York (I just love books that are set in New York, they always seem so magical), the second was that even though Kate doesn't believe in love herself, she still wants to help others find true love and the third was such an amazing romantic story that was full of friendship and passion that really drives this story.

Searching For Someday is an very modern matchmaking love story about a woman who doesn't believe in love, an arrogant handsome man who believe the same and the journey that love will take them on, just to prove that everyone has a true love out there if you just look hard enough.

If I had to sum this story up in three words, they would be Fantastic, Charming and Loveable.
