Sunlounger 2: Beach Read Bliss Weekends - Day 2

Every weekend throughout August I will be reviewing stories from the new Sunlounger 2 book. There will be four reviews on each day (Saturday & Sunday), except for the last weekend that will have six on both days. 

So, lets start with the next four books: 

Singapore Fling - Rosie Blake

Destination: Singapore

Chloe is ogling the hot, sexy guy across the pool. With his gorgeous looks, he has totally distracted her from the book she is reading, although she has no idea about what the book is about. So, when Pete, the person sat on the sun bed next to her asks about the book, he knows that she has no idea what she is talking about, which makes the situation even funnier. It doesn't take long for the guy she was looking at to come over to talk to her, making her realise something about herself and him in the process. 

If I had to sum this book up in one word, it would be Humorous. 

   Rosie spent her university years writing pantomimes based on old classics. The 2003 production of ‘The Wizard of Odd: Search for the Ruby Strippers’ enjoyed critical acclaim. This was followed a year later with a successful showing of ‘Harry Potter: The Musical’ (complete with moving opening number, ‘In my Cupboard I will Stay’).

Rosie went on to write a winning short story in the La Senza/Little Black Dress Short Story Competition and was shortlisted in a few others including the 'Women and Home' annual competition and the Daily Mail 'Opening Paragraph' Competition. She started writing novels and after some false starts, and horrendous jobs that she wishes to keep a closely guarded secret (or write about in the future), Rosie wrote How to Get a (Love) Life, which will be published in January 2014 by Novelicious Books.

Rosie likes baked items, taking long walks by the river and speaking about herself in the third person.

A Costume Drama - Tracey Bloom

Destination: Florida 

Charles or Charlie is known for playing seaweed at Disney, so when he get chosen to play Prince Charming to Cinderella, he jumps at the chance. Although, Cinderella is nothing like he expected at all, but he is determined to do what ever it takes to get the princess. Enlisting the help of a ugly sister, or Diana Ross (Not that Diana Ross, just someone who parents love the singer) to help win her over with a dance. Having already had his heart broken by a woman before, Charlie must try to get it right this time no matter what, even if it means dancing his way to get the woman of his dreams.

If I had to sum this book up in one word, it would be Delightful.

I started writing when my cruel, heartless husband ripped me away from my dream job, shopping for rollercoasters for the UK’s leading theme parks, to live in America with a brand new baby and no mates. In a cunning plan to avoid domestic duties and people who didn’t understand my Derbyshire accent, I wrote NO-ONE EVER HAS SEX ON A TUESDAY. It went on to be successfully published internationally and became an ebook Number 1 Best Seller in the UK in 2013 before being named Best Author Published Read at the Festival of Romance.

Back in good old England now and delighted that Arrow has now published NO-ONE EVER HAS SEX ON A TUESDAY as a paperback and ebook.

Magic Eight - Laurey Buckland

Destination: Bruges

Charlie hasn't had much luck with men, especially since her last good boyfriend decided to cheat on her. So, when her sister tell her to take the trip she and her husband were planning, Charlie doesn't seem very happy especially given the rules she has to follow. These rules are simple, instead of following her head on matters, she must follow what the Magic Eight Ball tell her. If only things were simpler, having to rely on a Magic Eight Ball is not how Charlie wants to live her life, but sometimes you have to give up control to get what you really want.

If I had to sum this book up in one word, it would be Magical.

The Party Boat - Jo Carnegie Destination: Croatia

Sue and Nev have been married for years, but they seem to have grown apart and they are hoping that the holiday of their dreams will start to fix their problems. Although, there seems to be a problem, Sue normally books the holiday, but Nev told her he would do it this year, having been saving up for a luxury cruise Sue could not be more excited and never expected anything to go wrong. It turns out that instead of a luxury cruise Nev booked them on a different boat, one that isn't their style. Sue thought this holiday would be a step in the right direction, but by the looks, it seems to be a step in the wrong direction instead. If I had to sum this book up in one word, it would be Marvellous.

Jo Carnegie lives in London and Cardiff. She spent her early career as a fledgling reporter on Bedfordshire’s Biggleswade Chronicle before working at more! and Glamour magazine, and most recently as deputy-editor of heat.
