Frankie Green’s happy ever after is put on hold when her childhood sweetheart husband complains things are boring in bed.

When he asks for some space, she sets out to win him back by getting herself a sex education.
Little does she know that her hilarious, tender and embarrassing journey of enlightenment is going to change everything...
A story full of humour, heartache and happiness, of friendship, coming of age and overcoming insecurity.

Frankie Green thought her life was perfect, she had a good job, great friends, a nice house and a lovely husband who she thinks the world of. So with their first wedding anniversary here, they are spending the night at a lovely hotel in Cardiff Bay, the same one that they spent their wedding night a year previously.
So it is a surprise when Frankie's husband says that he thinks that they are at a stand still in their relationship and wants some space to think about where they go from here. Frankie is completely blind-sided by the conversation especially when she thought everything was great with them but as she starts to think about the last few months, she realises that the signs had been there the whole time but she had been focusing on the positive.
It isn't long before Frankie's two best friends, Letty and Em come and try their best to help and support her through this rough patch in her life even if she doesn't want it. Letty is the most loose one of the three, she is the one who hides behind a mask, up front she is a bubbly person who is having an sexual relationship with a attached man even though she knows it is wrong but behind closed doors, she wants something real and she knows that she wants to change but doesn't know how.
Em is the most straight laced one, with a great job as a deputy store manager although she is disappointed that she let the man who she wanted leave and now with the news that she just got she doesn't know how her life ended up this way.
Together the three girls embark on a journey to help focus on their future, all are willing to help each other even if it means doing things they have never done before. They must all overcome the barriers that they have put in the way and their own personal issues to finally learn to love themselves.
The novel is told in a different way to most books, where as it jumps from different point of views which is great so you can get to know each of the three main girls. It also is told in significant days which I found great as it shows that the book is different from the other romantic comedies books out there. I love the location it is set in as well, I have been to Cardiff Bay a lot of times mainly due to the fact that I live near it, due to this I was able to imagine the story more vividly and it came to life before my eyes making me step into this wonderful world.
The Late Blossoming Of Frankie Green is one of the most funniest books I have ever read, the situations, the amazing characters and the story that will make you laugh until you cry. Laura Kemp is a brilliant writer who can make you smile, laugh and what to read the book all over again so it will never end.
Humorous, Unique and Legendary.

23 Review Street:
Q&A with Laura Kemp

Hi Laura, I am so glad to have you on my blog today. Your new book ‘The Late Blossoming of Frankie Green’ is an amazing read with such a gorgeous cover. I really loving the bright colours!
Oh, thanks so much for having me! Lovely to hear you enjoyed the book - it’s always scary wondering how it will be received. The cover was designed by the awesome Debbie Clement who I think captures the journey of Frankie Green.

How did you come up with the idea for ‘The Late Blossoming of Frankie Green’?
My amazing agent Lizzy Kremer put it to me: what if someone had read Fifty Shades of Grey and wanted to embark on an adult education? So I created Frankie, our lovely romantic heroine, who accidentally falls into bed with the brilliant Floyd to teach her the ropes. She resorts to it to win back her husband, who asks for some space when he tells her life is too predictable. But things don’t quite go to plan!

Are you working on any new ideas at the moment?
My next book, which is done, is with my publisher Aria for an edit. There’ll be countless edits as there always are! Fingers crossed, it’ll be out next year. I’ve just started working on book five, dreaming up new characters, which is brilliant fun!

What is your favourite genre to read?
I have three favourites - sorry! Psychological thrillers for the twisty-turns bits, rom coms and chick lit for the laughs and that comforting feeling that basically we all go through the same emotions and books set in far flung places for escapism.

What is your typical writing day?
It starts at 9.15am with a coffee and I go through until 1-ish, writing and researching (with Twitter, food and more coffee breaks). Then after that I reflect on what I’ve done as I go about with the rest of my life, looking after my son, doing the washing, walking the dog and shouting at my husband! If I’m on a deadline, I’ll get going whenever I wake up - which can be as early as 4am. It’s a time when it has to be done and if no one else is up then I can crack on.

Do you have a favourite book or author to read?
Loads! Milly Johnson, Lucy Diamond, Mhairi Mcfarlane, Clare Mackintosh, the list goes on! In terms of my favourite book, I think I’d say Wuthering Heights because it was a game-changer aged sixteen when i did it at A Level. The drama, characters, setting and story-telling left me gob-smacked.

If you had to describe your writing in three words, what would they be?
Funny, touching and sweet. I hope!

Thank you so much for being on 23 Review Street! No, thank you! Book bloggers do such an amazing job - you rock xxx
