Cultural archeologist Lindsay Reynoso is in a small seaside town in California to evaluate an old mansion. When the home's owner shows up to “help” the evaluation along, Lindsay is furious.
Especially as the owner is former bad-boy tennis star Christopher Brandt…her one-time fling and the father of Lindsay's son. Only he doesn't know it. As far as Chris is concerned, the old mansion is tied to a past he's better off leaving behind. He'd rather bulldoze the thing and move on.
If only his gorgeous consultant would let him. Even while fighting over the demolition, the chemistry that once brought them together is smoldering stronger than ever.
But honesty is very important to Chris, and Lindsay has an eight-year-old secret…

Lindsay Reynoso is determined to finish her last job before she settles down near her family once and for all. With her job as a cultural archeologist it doesn't give her much time to spend with her family or her son, so she had decided that she needed to make some chances to be closer to him and finally put down some roots so she can tuck him in at night and attend all of his game and be the mother he needs.
Lindsay's last project should be an easy open and closed project but when the owner of the mansion shows up at the property, she is thrown back into the past by eight years, seeing him feels like a punch to the stomach and she doesn't have a good feeling about the meeting seeing as the last one ended with them in bed together.
Although from the way Christopher Brandt is acting, he doesn't seem like he remembers the night that they shared, let alone who Lindsay is full stop. It isn't long before his presence becomes annoying as Lindsay is trying to do her job and he just keeps getting in the way. Lindsay takes her job seriously and when she lets Christopher know that his plans to knock down his mansion will not be happening, he isn't very happy, then again when he finds out the secret that Lindsay has held onto for the past eight years he isn't just going to be unhappy.
My favourite character would have to be Lindsay, she is a strong character having raised an amazing son and has never thought of her unexpected pregnancy as a issue, she just learned to cope and got on with her life, got a good career and now she is putting his son first again to be there more for him and not to rely on her family so much. I also loved her career it was so unique and different from other books that I have read which made it even more interesting.
A Touch of Chardonnay is a novel that is full of heart and secrets that could break or save you, with its unique themes and imaginable situations, it is a perfect read to a summer afternoon that will make you glad you spent the time in the world of these characters.
Lovely, Moving and Heartfelt.

Another day, another book,
