When Jo’s friend Andi asks if she’ll stand in to cook Christmas lunch for her employer, Jo reluctantly agrees. She knows Andi will lose her job if she doesn’t, and wants to help out her friend.

Jo is nervous because Andi’s boss is a well-known celebrity diva, who outright refuses to have anyone but Andi cook for her. But she also insists Andi wears full chef's whites so the girls think they’ll get away with it … it’s the perfect Christmas disguise.
But when Jo runs into one of the guests - good looking and very smart Anthony - things get even more complicated…

Jo loves Christmas not for the decorations or food but for the sole reason that she loves helping others. Every Christmas she spends time helping out at the local dog shelter where she spends time with the dogs and keeps them company so they can get use to human interaction.
When Jo's friend Andi asks her a favour, she is wary at first as it could turn out awful in the end, but she finally agrees to pretend to be her. As well as cook a Christmas dinner for Andi's employer so that Andi can spend the day with her family. It all seems simple enough until a handsome man walks into the kitchen and asks where Andi is and who Jo was, as he had met Andi before.
Anthony is one of Andi's boss's guests and seems to be in a bit of a situation himself, so he offers Jo a solution to both of their problems. While Jo isn't thrilled to be caught up in another lie, she needs to make sure no one else finds out about Andi not being there and make sure the Christmas dinner runs as smoothly as possible, even if that means being someone else for a couple of hours.
I love Christmas books and ones by Katie Fforde are just icing on the Christmas Cake! I loved the element that Jo loved to help out at the dog shelter, it gave the story a heartwarming feature that made me love it even more. I also loved the cooking as stories that feature bakeries, restaurants or chefs are normally my favourite books of all.
A Christmas In Disguise has everything you could want in a Christmas book, it has food, friendship, family and most of all an animal lover who has the sweetest heart.
Heartwarming, Sweet and Loveable.
